After Rome, Madrid and Barcelona FRHDesign is bringing Sevilla, including its airport, to X-Plane
The new porjects of FHRDesign, the famous designer of cities for X-Plane 10 & 11: Santiago De Chile and Aeropuerto Chapelco Neuquen
FRH Design is famous for its sceneries portraying in a faithful way the most famous and beautiful cities in the world.
After Madrid, Barcelona, Rosario now it’s time for Rome.
Rome landscape is underway at FRHDesign, the Eternal City has finally found someone who’ll take care of.
I’ve been hoping for someone to represent my city in X-Plane in the best way and I hoped for FRHDesign by Fabio Hidalgo since He made Madrid.
This is the very first shot of Rome UHD project that will be coming soon in your X-Plane directories. Still no ETA but we’ll engage Fabio as much as we can to let you have the best news.
The latest freeware scenery released is simply amazing. It’s not an airport, but a whole city! Let’s talk about Madrid’s representation in X-Plane.
“ahí está, ahí está, la Puerta de Alcalá” sang Victor Manuel some years ago. And from today you can sing it overflying Madrid in X-Plane too!
It’s really pleasant for me to talk about a city I visited in June (don’t kill me, I liked more Barcelona and Valencia) and I really enjoyed! During my sightseeing in Madrid I toke A LOT of pictures the I used to compare the scenery by SUR4714 (Fabio H. in his everyday life) to the real city.
I don’t know if Fabio lives in the main city of Spain, but I ensure you his work is amazing. Everything looks special and you can recognize the “Wanda Metropolitano”, the “Santiago Bernabeu”, the railway stations and the skyscrapers of the modern city.
I spent a lot of time overflying “Parco del retiro”, for personal reasons as I spent a whole day there, but every critical angle of the city is redone perfectly, and take benefits of the PBR technology (even if it works also on X-Plane 10).
I was afraid for my GPU and CPU while downloading this scenery, because I already use Spain UHD for my landscape, and it’s natural to think that a huge 3D scenery could eat your fps like anything.
I’m happy to state that this scenery is incredibly optimized. The fps loss on my machine is quite unnoticeable, but we know that every pc is different, and I cannot ensure you will get the same performance even if your pc could be the same of mine. If I could, probably I’d be up in the sky…
Let’s look at the official video presentation of the scenery:

What you’ll need to install and enjoy this scenery in the right way.
To run the scenery you’ll need a huge amount of libraries (master libraries must be updated) look at the list below:
plus another library that is not mentioned on the file topic. You can download here
Maybe too much, but it’s hard to get a more detailed scenery for free (you can donate to “my friend” here) without the help of exernal libraries… Even if I totally disagree the “lego brick” technique, in this case I must give merit to the developer: He used external libraries to integrate custom buildings and keeping superb performances.
Tom’s Cockpit staff reminds you that HALF of the donations made to the blog will be devolved to AIRC and other research assosciations operating in Italy
EDIT: Fabio is also developing Barcelona, review as soon as it’s released!
